Southport Sharks

Project Details

Following several years of frustrations and failed negotiations with a Telstra Dealership, Reedify were approached by the Southport Sharks to conduct an investigation into their monthly costs and to negotiate a resolution to their issues with several different service providers.

Reedify were able to propose a solution that would see communications costs reduced by 33% while also receiving a rebate for missed non-for-profit subsidies and discounts that the Telco company had previously ‘unsuccessfully’ applied for.

Within 2 weeks, Reedify had negotiated a rebate of over $40,000 (5 years backdated) paid by cheque and credit to the club and their monthly costs are now 40% lower.

Project Goal

Our Task 1: Implement Not-For-Profit discounts.
Our Task 2: Have missed discounts rebated over several years.

Client

Southport Australian Football Club (nicknamed The Sharks) is a Gold Coast based club competing in the NEAFL Australian rules football competition. Southport is perhaps the most successful ever Queensland based Aussie Rules club with a total of 13 premierships in only 26 years and have made the finals each season.

The club has been involved in Australian Football League licence bids since 1996. To date none of these bids have been granted, however the AFL began taking interest in 2006 with pushes to merge Southport with a Melbourne-based AFL club.

We actually initially pushed back when Jeremy suggested that we should be receiving Not-For-Profit discounts simply because we believed what our provider had told us. We soon found out without causing any issues, we received a $40,000 cheque in the mail and our bills reduced by 40% with our new contract amendments.”
