For almost 30 years, Carers Queensland has been working to advocate for equal rights, opportunities, and enhanced outcomes for families. We respond to the unique and changing needs of the 533,000 carers across the state and those they care for. We provide hands-on support to carers through 26 regional offices across Queensland. This includes counselling and advocacy programs. We work in close collaboration with carers, other state and territory Carers Associations and strategic partners.
Being a well-recognised QLD Not-For-Profit organisation, Carers QLD always believed they would be taken care of with their account managers and service providers. With an upcoming expansion project, which would see more than 10 new branches opening all around QLD, Carers QLD felt that they needed a level of expertise and accountability. Carers QLD reached out to Reedify for their specialist Project Management services in Telco, tasking Reedify with assessing the market (including incumbent provider) and put together a comprehensive report that identified 3 different options for the executive team to evaluate.
Reedify first conducted their Historical Forensic Analysis review, to understand the previous 24 months usage patterns and current technology and service infrastructure. Utilising benchmarking technology and billing optimisation principles, Reedify quickly identified the best 3 providers that would fit the scope of works previously defined in the initial client meetings. Along with establishing x3 different provider solutions (with a comprehensive report that compared and contrasted each of them), Reedify also identified significant issues that had been occurring on the accounts with their current Service Provider, that Carers QLD were completely unaware of. The customer was aware their billing was higher, but thought that was simply the “Cost to do business” with their Tier 1 carrier, but in actuality their monthly expenses were significantly higher than their contractual commitments.
Reedify assisted Carers QLD in their selection of their rollout strategy and chose to stick with the incumbent provider, rectify issues and put together a compelling ICT roadmap. Given the time constraints, the project was kicked off immediately to rollout a brand new SDWAN solution to the x10 new sites which had more than 650 user set ups included – Reedify was able to effectively budget the establishment costs for the new sites, ongoing expected costs and created a costing model that saw the x10 new sites (albeit twice the size of previous / historical sites) average a 50% lower cost than their current budgets had allowed. During this project rollout, Reedify also sat down with the incumbent service provider and presented the issues identified in the forensic analysis of historical charges, achieved a backdate of charges for more than $50,000.00 incl GST and then negotiated a contract release (no penalties) to enable fully alignment of services to existing projects. Over the last 36 months, Reedify has saved Carers QLD on their previous sites more than $545,000.00 incl GST in monthly costs, completely rolled out their new sites on time and created a technology environment that has created incredible operational efficiencies and enabled a move from legacy IT systems through to secure cloud infrastructures.
The ability to entirely pass the responsibility of telecommunications to Reedify has had a huge impact in our organisation, not only due to the significant amount of money saved but the time and resources we have been able to free up for key staff members. Reedify have gone out of their way to help us with other business requirements, including tender proposals for NDIS services and ICT project advice and disputes.
